Be carefull what you ask for, you might just get it!

Back in 57 Venezuelans clamored for democracy after 5 years under right wing dictator Perez Jimenez. However with oil only hovering around $20/barrel.Venezuelans enjoyed the highest standard of living in all of Latin America, crime was virtually non existent, there were "great infrastructure" works for the first time ever, the country enjoyed "full employment" anybody that wanted to work could!

"Entre estas obras están la autopista Caracas - La Guaira, la autopista Caracas-Valencia, el Centro Simón Bolívar, el Hotel Humboldt, el Helicoide de Caracas y el Puente sobre el Lago de Maracaibo."

Yes there was political persecution by PJ but only if you were a leftist or a communist. Finally in 58 the stars aligned for the opposition and a group of military, and left wing politicians were able to overthrow PJ.

Fast forward 1999 after years of corrupt "democratic governments" Venezuelans saw their standard of living decline to that of underdeveloped countries, morality and respect for property declined as well. The country is one of the most dangerous places in the world. Frustrated voters elected ex lieutenant,2 time bloody coupster, Hugo Frias Chavez under the guise that he would right the ship. It was all a rouse to hand Fidel Castro the keys to the Venezuelan Oil machine.

And now you have it, Chavez is bent on the cubanization of Venezuela, forfeiting, basic human rights, demolishing the opposition by all means necessary and consolidating all branches of government to his liking. $900 billion of oil revenues have passed through Chavez's reign and what does he have to show for? a few Cuban doctors, a couple of Iranian tractor and bicycle plants and this and that...most of his closest followers are now billionaires, hum? I wonder how that happened? The country's infrastructure is in shambles, roads are impassible, bridges collapse, rolling blackouts due to crumbling electrical equipment even the countries main airport was shutdown for a couple of days last week due to a electrical malfunction.

Well Venezuelans you got what you asked for you wanted democracy you wanted change?...I just hope it's not too late
